How to Check a Project’s RERA Registration in Gujarat

Updated 20 October 2026

Every new residential or commercial project above the size threshold set by the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 must be registered with the state regulator before it is advertised or sold. In Gujarat that regulator is the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA). Checking the registration takes a few minutes and is the single most useful thing you can do before booking.

Where to check

Use the official GujRERA website, gujrera.gujarat.gov.in. Its public search lets you look up registered projects and agents without logging in. Do not rely on a screenshot or a number printed only in an advertisement — look the project up yourself.

Step by step

  • Note the RERA registration number from the brochure, the advertisement or the project page on this site.
  • Open the project search on the GujRERA website and search by registration number, or by project name and district.
  • Open the project record and confirm that the promoter (developer) name, project name and address match what you were told.
  • Check the proposed completion date in the registration. This is the date the developer committed to the regulator, and it can differ from the possession date in marketing material.
  • Look at the approved documents and the periodic progress updates the developer files, where available.

What to compare against the brochure

  • Number of towers, floors and units.
  • Carpet area of the unit type you are buying.
  • Completion date in the registration versus the possession date you were promised.
  • The legal name of the promoter — your agreement for sale should be with the same entity.

Warning signs

  • No registration number, or a number that does not return this project on the GujRERA website.
  • A request for a booking amount before the project is registered.
  • A completion date on the regulator’s record that has already passed with no extension shown.
  • A different promoter name on the registration than on the agreement you are asked to sign.

On this site

Every project page shows its RERA registration number where the developer has one, and says so plainly when we do not hold one. Treat the number here as a starting point: verify it on the GujRERA website before you pay anything.
